SWAMI RAM DAYALDAS TAPASWIJI
Yogiraj or Swamiji
Swami Ram Dayaldas Tapaswiji
This site is dedicated to our Pujya Swamiji.

Swamiji was not just our spiritual leader but an inspiration to us all in the way he lived his life. His philosophy centred around vyavhar which is the way you conduct yourself in your everyday life. His teachings were very aligned to the Buddhist faith where every human being is able to achieve enlightenment through their actions and deeds.
As a Yogi, Swamiji spent most of the day in meditation. He had a strict routine, niyam, and his teachings focused on discipline. He believed that nothing could be accomplished without discipline and self control, the vital ingredients to salvation.

He was an embodiment of love: anyone who had ever met him would agree he was a picture of pure love, compassion and kindness. Throughout his life, he showed us this in many ways: his gestures, his speech, his food, most of all his blessings. He used to arrange bhandaras (feeding the poor) with such attention to detail (the menu, the ingredients but most importantly the caring). He led the most simple life himself, limiting himself to only two dhotis, which he cleaned himself, a shawl in winter and chakris (a single pair of wooden slippers). He cooked for himself and never took help from anyone.
As children, our winter holidays were spent in his Ashram waiting for him to have a break in his meditation. We were so fortunate to have such easy access to a highly enlightened soul, but on reflection we wish we could have gained and appreciated this more. We were young, inexperienced and caught up in our own samsara (world).
His followers have recounted their personal experiences and we hope that this provides insight and inspiration to our future generations.
